MWFA Announce Plans for 2022 Mens Premier League

1st-placed Beacon Hill have been declared AL1 Champions for 2021 and will be invited to join the Premier League competition and Manly Vale has been relegated from the Premier League.

Currently, Forest Killarney are the 2nd-placed team in AL1s without a Premier League team, whilst manly vale sit 2 points behind them and also do not have a 2022 Premier League team.

For the remaining games to be played, NSW Government restrictions MUST allow for community sport to return to “full team training” on or before Saturday 2 October.

If this is not possible, the Round 13 AL1 match between Forest and Manly Vale for a spot in the playoff will be scrapped and only Beacon Hill will be promoted to the Premier League and demote Manly Vale to the AL1 competition will stand.

If community sport can return to full team training in advance of Saturday 2 October, MWFA will liaise with the three clubs and set a date for the two matches (allowing at least 3 weeks of training before the first game and exactly one week between the first game and the playoff).

The Round 13 AL1 league match between Manly Vale and Forest Killarney will take place on or before Saturday 23 October. This match will take place at Cromer Park (likely a Saturday afternoon/early evening).

If Forest Killarney wins that match or the game finishes in a draw, they will progress to the play off. If Manly Vale wins that match they will progress to the play off.

The play off match will take place one week after the Round 13 game (on or before Saturday October 30).

Only players registered in the Manly Vale AL1 / Forest AL1 teams or in a team/competition that would usually allow them to play (be borrowed under the borrowing rules) can take part in the match.

Only players registered in the Seaforth PL team or in a team/competition that would usually allow them to play (be borrowed under the borrowing rules) can take part in the match.

This match will take place at Cromer Park (likely a Saturday afternoon/early evening – one week after the previous match).

This match will be played with unlimited interchange (Taking into consideration player welfare).

If this playoff match finishes in a draw after 90 minutes the game will go to extra time (2 x 15 minute periods). If it is still a draw at the end of the extra time period, the match (and the final place in 2022 Premier League) will be determined by a penalty shoot out.
